Our Mission
The HERON Lab is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and youth with acquired brain injuries by advancing equitable research in pediatric neurotrauma. Through meaningful partnerships with communities, clinicians, and researchers, we work to ensure that research is responsive to real-world needs and accessible to those it aims to serve. Our work emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge translation to increase awareness of invisible brain injuries and reduce barriers to care. By building inclusive research environments and empowering communities with knowledge and tools, we aim to support better outcomes for children, youth, and their families.
